Anyone who's seen our backyard will understand the overwhelmed feeling i have when i think about trying to landscape or make some sense of it. We live on about 3/4 of an acre, and half of that is wild and overgrown forest and the other half is just wild and overgrown (we have had some help from my grandpa rudi in taming that to some degree, so i'm actually not afraid to go in the backyard anymore;) however, one side of our backyard is entirely covered with thorny bushes, so thick i don't think even the snakes will go there. we've had fleeting thoughts of digging it all up (renting large equipment to accomplish this daunting task), but that's all they've been...fleeting thoughts. Well, for the first time since moving to our house, I'm thrilled to have all those thory bushes all over the side yard. turns out they're actually function

How fun is that? We haven't had near that many, but we've also enjoyed lots of blackberries thanks to the people that lived here before us.
Hope y'all are doing great, and hopefully we'll get to see you some this summer.
That sounds awesome. This Wednesday I bought at the market what I thought were blackberries, but it turns out, they were mulberries. I thought mulberries were fictional, like only in books. They're actually pretty tasty.
Are you guys going to be in Austin anytime around the holidays? I know it might be too early for you to know. Either way, we'll be there, and it would be so good to see you! Say hi to your clan members for me. We love you!
because of jon's job, we're only going to be able to come to austin for a few days this summer, which i'm a little sad about, but looking forward to, nevertheless. I don't think we'll be in austin at christmas time this year:( but jon is done with school in one year, LORD willing, so maybe we'll be back the next summer?? praying about that. we miss everyone!
WOW! Lucky you! I bet your glad that those excavation thoughts were only fleeting. Those look delish and what a fun thing to share with neighbors... lucky THEM!
I keep meaning to answer your email... our computer went CRASH and we haven't gotten our email up yet. :( (That is, recovered our old emails... I can check online)
Anyway, awesome post! Take care...
